Ram Sita called as Best Couple?

Ram Sita called as Best Couple?

Every Hindu marriage that is blessed by the elders carries the sentence that the union of husband-wife is just as ideal as that of Lord Ram and Sita Devi. Characters from the legend of Ramayana, one of the oldest epics of Indian mythology, have a remarkable effect on the way a Hindu person lives his or her life. From birth to death, every phase of life is compared to the actions and deeds performed by Lord Ram. While Ram is the Ideal son, brother, and friend, his reputation is maligned by poor choice of leaving his wife. Despite valiantly bringing back his wife from the clutches of demon king, RAVANA, the character of Ram will always be under the cloud as to why he left his wife to wander in the jungles and remain oblivious to the fact that he had two sons from her.
Textual references portray the marriage of Ram and Sita as an ideal union. The heavenly husband-wife pair were united on Earth by a popular form of marriage, called the ‘Swayamvar’ or choosing one’s own husband. The love story between Ram and Sita began days before marriage event actually happened. The glory of Ram and his brother had spread to far away kingdoms, including the kingdom of Raja Janak, father of Sita. Ram and Sita got married after he managed to fulfil the conditions of marriage that other candidates could not complete. The marriage was doomed from the very first day as Lord Ram was cursed by another incarnation of Lord Vishnu-Parshuram.
Lord Parshuram, the Kshatriya slayer, was angry at Ram as he broke Shiva’s bow to marry Sita. This was an inauspicious action as Shiva’s bow was a sacred tool to slay evils. Moreover, Ram was a Kshatriya himself! Though, they were the human forms of the same God, Parshuram warned Sita that this marriage will be full of challenges and hurdles. Sita was petrified but her love for Ram was now tied with marriage.
Ram never objected to Sita’s action of coming with him and accompanying to every place he went. Even when he was banished from Ayodhya by his father, Dashratha, Sita performed the duties of her life and accompanied him to the jungles. Despite being a princess, she never complained. Sita was reminded of her helplessness by Ram and then his brother when they set a perimeter for her, which she was bound to stick to. Ideal couples don’t make oral rules. They understand each other and follow them. Sita suffered the consequences when she was abducted by Ravan and taken to Lanka. Despite being a more powerful king and more knowledgeable than Ram, Sita did not marry Ravan. This shows her commitment towards marriage. Ram obliged to his duties as a husband by killing the character who abducted his wife and in the process freed thousands of other abducted slaves and women.
Doubt is the enemy of all relationships. Ram and Sita are not best couple as she was first made to undergo Fire test to prove her purity and chastity. Despite coming out true, she was banished from the kingdom on questions raised by an ignorant citizen.
